Peace Camp is a program of the Decade of Nonviolence Houston. Compassion will be the theme of the next Peace Camp, which will be held at the Houston Area Women's Center from July 28-August 1. Youth from 5-12 years old may participate. Yoga, music, drumming, arts and crafts, and cooperative games are part of the program. Learning about how to deal with anger, resolving conflicts, and ways to serve others will be in the curriculum. A different peacemaker will be studied each day. Although this camp is open only to residents of the Center, another Peace Camp will be held at the Cameron Retreat Center from July 14-18 and is open to the public.
