Peace Education In Schools (PEIS) is a program of the Decade of
Nonviolence-Houston dedicated to encouraging educational pursuit of the
knowledge and skills necessary to create and enjoy a culture of peace on a
healthy planet.
The goal of PEIS is to make available to teachers, parents, and other caring
adults the rich body of existing resources for infusing peace education into
the school climate, curriculum, and home environment.
This resource guide has been put together by a volunteer committee of teachers,
peace activists, and caring adults who want to see a bright future for all the
children of the world. When compiled, the websites listed for each resource
were active and accurate, and presented resources we felt would be helpful to
teachers. We are not responsible for any changes to the websites included in
this guide. We do our best to update the resource guide, but if you find a
resource that does not fit the description we have provided, please
email your concerns.
If you live in or near Houston, Texas, please peruse our Teacher Resources Lending Library. To check out any of the resources, you may email Judith.
Thank you for using our resource guide and caring about peace education.
